My great great grandfather Josiah Martin was found on the McMinn County, Tennessee census in June 1880. He was 15 years old, living with his father John Martin and working as a farm hand. He had several brothers and sisters still living at home. (June 3, 1880, McMinn County Census, 12th Civil District, Series T9, Roll 1268, Page 374, Subpage A)

Josiah Martin was listed on the January 1920 Census for McMinn County, Tennessee. He was 55 years old and head of household. Living in his home were his wife Elizabeth, children Albert and Annie and granddaughter Elizabeth. Living nearby was his son Plez Martin and Plez's wife Birdie (my great grandparents). Plez and Birdie had two children living in their home and her father Robert H. Cardin lived next door. Robert H. was married to Jane and had four sons and two daughters living at home.
